A Nigerian man has sparked widespread reactions on social media after revealing why he no longer keeps close friends, alleging that some of them secretly had affairs with his girlfriend behind his back.
In a video that has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), the man recounted how he met the woman on Facebook and was initially drawn to her intelligence.
According to him, after communicating online for some time, they decided to meet in person. Although she did not look exactly like the photos she had shared, he said they gradually built a strong connection and eventually fell deeply in love.
“I cleaned this girl up, polished her to my taste, and even introduced her to my mum and friends,” he said.
The man explained that the relationship was going smoothly until they began experiencing challenges about a year later.
He alleged that one of his close friends, who attended the same church as his girlfriend, often positioned himself as a mediator whenever misunderstandings arose between them.
“This same guy would come to me and say, ‘How far guy, this your babe dey always ask of you oo, talk to this girl now,’ not knowing he was secretly sleeping with my babe behind my back,” he claimed.
According to him, he eventually uncovered the alleged affair through the friend’s girlfriend, who informed him that the relationship had been going on behind his back.
