Hilda Dokubo Criticizes Tinubu Over Insecurity, Says Nigerians Need Action, Not Excuses
Veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo has publicly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the country’s worsening security situation, accusing political leaders of being detached from the daily realities faced by ordinary Nigerians.
In a viral video circulating online, Dokubo argued that government officials live under heavy security protection while millions of citizens remain vulnerable to kidnappings, attacks, and other violent crimes.
According to her, the contrast between the lifestyles of public office holders and the struggles of ordinary Nigerians has created a disconnect that makes it difficult for leaders to fully appreciate the severity of the crisis.
“You live a comfortable life. You move around in armored vehicles, surrounded by armed security personnel. Your children are protected, and even those who are around us enjoy a level of security that ordinary Nigerians do not have,” she said.
Call for Empathy and Urgent Action
The actress stressed that victims of insecurity and their families need compassion, protection, and decisive action rather than explanations or political rhetoric.
Referring to recent reports of school abductions in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, she said the suffering of affected children and parents should prompt an immediate and meaningful response from those in authority.
“How can you be giving parables when children are in tears?” she asked.
“May no parent ever experience the fear of wondering whether they will be forced to bury their own child.”
Dokubo further highlighted the plight of farmers who continue to lose access to their farmlands because of insecurity, noting that many communities are struggling to survive amid growing fears of attacks and kidnappings.
“The farmers who lose their farmlands every day do not need distance from their leaders. They need empathy, protection, and action. They need a government that can secure their land and guarantee their safety,” she added.
Growing Concern Over Security Challenges
The actress concluded by urging the federal government to take stronger and more effective measures to address the country’s security challenges, warning that the continued wave of violence is affecting families, businesses, and entire communities across Nigeria.
Her comments have since generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians joining the conversation about insecurity, leadership, and the need for more urgent intervention to protect lives and livelihoods.
