Social media activist VeryDarkMan and a group of his supporters have sparked reactions online after visiting a Nigerian Air Force facility in Abuja to call for stronger action against kidnappers and bandits amid growing concerns over insecurity across parts of the country.
The visit reportedly took place shortly after the activist returned to Nigeria following a brief stay abroad.
Speaking outside the military facility, VeryDarkMan questioned the country’s response to rising cases of kidnapping and armed attacks, urging security agencies to intensify efforts against criminal groups terrorising communities.
In a video that has since gone viral, the activist and his supporters were seen gathered outside the facility, demanding swift and decisive action against bandits and kidnappers.
Addressing security authorities, he said:
“Nigerian Air Force, if you have bullets to shoot us, then you should also have bullets to shoot kidnappers and bandits. Take your aircraft into the forests and go after them.”
The video quickly generated mixed reactions on social media, with many Nigerians sharing differing opinions on the activist’s approach and message.
One user, @ani49488, wrote:
“Absolutely! VDM is who he thinks he is. Enough is enough. Tinubu must go!”
Another user, @donholyma, praised the activist for taking his concerns directly to the authorities:
“He didn’t just talk on the internet; he went straight to the Air Force base in Abuja to ask the real question. You people receive hundreds of billions every year, yet insecurity continues to claim lives daily.
“Bandits, terrorists and kidnappers must go. VDM, you’re a real one for this. No fear, no shaking. You’re putting yourself on the line for the rest of us.
“To all the young people supporting him, this is the kind of energy we need. Stop just liking and reposting online—stand up, speak truth to power and demand better. If one person can do this, imagine what we can achieve together.”
However, not everyone shared the same view.

“It’s about to be a very long movie. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Nnamdi Kanu had many online supporters too, but where is he today? VDM will learn the hard way.”
