Social media commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) has reacted to the latest video released by victims who were kidnapped in Oyo State, expressing frustration over what he described as the government’s slow response to the situation.
In a video shared online, the activist stated that if the federal government fails to secure the victims’ release within the next four days, Nigerians may have no choice but to raise funds themselves and negotiate directly with the kidnappers.
“If in the next four days the federal government is not able to bring these people out, we’ll have no other option than to do the first crowdfunding to get them out,” he said.
VDM further suggested that citizens might be forced to take matters into their own hands if authorities continue to delay action.
“We’ll be the ones to negotiate with the terrorists,” he added.
His remarks come after a heartbreaking new video of one of the abducted victims, a school principal, surfaced online. In the emotional clip, she pleaded with authorities to come to their rescue, urging them not to use military force but instead pursue dialogue and negotiations with the kidnappers.
The video has sparked mixed reactions across social media. While many Nigerians have expressed support for VDM’s concern and urgency, others have questioned the idea of citizens directly negotiating with kidnappers.
The kidnapping incident in the Oriire community of Oyo State continues to generate nationwide concern, with many Nigerians calling on security agencies and the government to intensify efforts to ensure the safe and swift release of the victims.
