The naira showed little movement on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, maintaining relative stability against the US dollar despite ongoing pressure in the foreign exchange market.

At the official market, the currency traded at around ₦1,360 per dollar, with only slight changes compared to previous sessions. This keeps the naira within its recent range, as it continues to hover between ₦1,350 and ₦1,360.

However, the situation remains different in the parallel (black) market, where demand for dollars is higher. Rates were reported to range between ₦1,400 and ₦1,480 per dollar, depending on location and transaction size.

The gap between both markets persists, largely due to limited access to foreign exchange through official channels, pushing many individuals and businesses to alternative sources.

Overall, while the naira appears stable at the official window, pressure still exists behind the scenes, especially in the black market where demand continues to rise.
